Another successful Clubhouse and Grounds working bee was held early this month with a good turnout, even though it was a long weekend with warmish Saturday morning conditions.
Ian was up with the larks and soon had the weeds and grass removed from the garden and shrub areas at the main entrance.
The same went for the rose bed gardens at the side of the clubhouse where Haydn and Fraser dug out a couple of wheelbarrows of cooch grass.
The Clubs lawnmower had a good workout by Russell who brought the grass down to its correct altitude.
All the leaves and debris were raked and picked up by Martin, Andrew and Steve. The Weeds were given a spray and all rubbish was taken to the empty skip which by end of morning was completely full.
Some cursing occurred against Smokers for not discarding their butts in the recently supplied wall mounted butt disposal unit.
The next major item to receive attention is the peeling plaster on the external staircase. It shall be removed safely with the aid of an Elevated Work Platform and a new exterior coat given to the stairs.
Our working bees help keep the club’s facilities and grounds in good shape and the committee is grateful to all our members who support these.
