The annual Australian Light Aircraft Championships were held last Wednesday through to Saturday April 9-12 at Tooradin Airport in Victoria.
Particularly frustrating weather across the week meant a lot of the events weren’t run and the majority of the competition was crammed into the Saturday. The Federation Cup managed to only just slip out of RACWAs hands, but not to discourage from the silver lining that is our own Rod Garnaut, who was crowned overall champion!
On behalf of the entire Royal Aero Club we’d like to congratulate Rod on his efforts and warmly thank the team who participated and represented RACWA at the event; consisting of:
Rod Garnaut, Craig Hensley, Silvia Byers and Jim Di Menna.
Also an honourable mention to Trevor Jones and Andrew Eldridge for being there to cheer them on!
Expect to hear the official results and speculation about next year’s event in the May edition of Tarmac Topics
