Club Captain Craig Hensley, presented a cheque from all of the Bun Run donations to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). Sonia Abbott gratefully accepted the cheque and explained the money will be used to finish equipping their aircraft with special mattresses.
“We recently went through a process to update our special portable mattresses which are used to transport our spinal patients. We had enough funds to buy six, but with 14 aircraft across the state, we need at least another eight,” said Sonia.
The mattresses are $1,400 each. Fundraising efforts such as the Bun Run, go a long way to helping the RFDS provide the finest care.
